When I finished this painting, a friend immediately said, ‘This is Ayvalık!‘. Although I have never been, I decided to name it that because of the pure excitement she felt upon seeing it. It’s nice to see how everyone can feel a piece of themselves, their home, in each painting. I love the Aegean coast, so for me, it worked.
