When I finished this painting, a friend immediately said, “This is Ayvalık!” Although I have never been, I decided to name it that because of the pure excitement she felt upon seeing it. I love how everyone can feel a piece of themselves, their home, in each painting. I love the Aegean coast, so for me, it worked.
