This piece reminds me of our road trip from Slovenia to Croatia and is a nod to its emerald colored lakes. Lake Bled has such an ethereal feel, with its fairytale island and the castle at the top of the hill. But it was the sudden storm at Plitvice Lakes National Park that took us by surprise! I remember sheltering with my mum and dad, waiting for the storm to pass; we were soaking wet but having so much fun. It was a true adventure. My travels have taught me I can go anywhere, and anywhere is home.
